tmux 2.3 (scrot is from experimental) has some nice new features. Now you can make it look like a mix of dvtm and screen :D

^ my fault, I meant 2.4 is in experimental, and that 2.3 has the new border shit.

Code: Select all

user@x60:~$ policy tmux
tmux:
  Installed: 2.4~git20170318-1
  Candidate: 2.4~git20170318-1
  Version table:
 *** 2.4~git20170318-1 100
          1 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian experimental/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     2.3-4 500
        500 http://ftp.cn.debian.org/debian unstable/main i386 Packages

user@x60:~$ lesspipe /usr/share/doc/tmux/changelog.Debian.gz
tmux (2.4~git20170318-1) experimental; urgency=medium

  * New upstream snapshot, from Git commit 4eec3270ec.

^ thanks guys.

Totally fell in love with exwm. If you want to build it from ELPA, get xelb and exwm (optionally" exwm-x). For convenience, also grab dmenu from there (it's assigned to M-d and is even more clever than suckless' dmenu, because it knows when to open terminal apps in a terminal). In ~/.xinitrc just set "exec emacs" after you have added the relevant lines into your init.el

So, bye-bye spectrwm, all my dreams have come true.

scrot for scrot's sake, not much to see :)

^^^ Tried exwm once a year or so ago, it was great but not really stable (ie borked all the time like sawfish). How is it now?

^ ah well, it's getting better and better, of course there are still some rough edges, eg. some processes create zombie buffers, or it's a bit PITA to switch buffers when helm is involved, but else it's really not that bad. OTOH, it's nothing that a tiling WM wouldn't be able to do ;)
