^ no particular reason, I'll just let my worse half try a few DE's (XFCE4, MATE) and maybe JWM and Openbox, and then spectrwm. She'll decide for keeping the latter anyway.

To prove that spectrwm does not necessarily need to be lightweight.

Yep, I think it is really the best one, at least for me. No bells and whistles.

that's really pretty. Sometimes a little transparency goes a long way.

I like! I'm still trying to hammer out a background on mine. Using compton for transparency?

let's see how long it takes until I have enough of it. It's an emulation of the old Amstrad CPC colors (nope, not true -- the foreground should be pure yellow, I forgot to set that correctly, nvm). Fonts are tamsym.

^^ I recall the screen, although we were poor and only had the green amstrad monitor :)
most time we spent there was typing in load "" or whatever it was to get a game up

^^^ young people nowadays don't know what's good :D

^^ yes, same here, I only had the GT65 (IIRC that was the model number), had a yellowish-greenish tint for the text colour. I remember that games even had a "PRESS G FOR GREEN SCREEN" setting, which didn't make a big difference.

^ thanks Sire, colors posted in the Xresources section
