Thanks all! A bit fruity, but can't always be dark and dreary. I change my scheme more than my underwear, so it's nice to have a drawer full.
The colors came out well. They are very soft, but still quite readable.

Re: dkeg
was using herbstluftwm again, but back to this. Not anything against hlwm, just not really in need of a tiler. I've found some good uses for it, but not there as a go to wm. Most info in the scrot via a modified env-info. Otherwise, weechat and feh with an alias to preview walls. Also have a script to preview scrots with feh, or auto upload to imgur. You know, drinking games scripts.

Re: dkeg
I feel honoured to be here, seeing these scrots and am proud to host them on my server :)
dkeg, do you utilise compton's blur facility? I was thinking of using it on the i5 machine, with the fancy GPU. but as always I am reminded, mostly terminal and browser windows.

Re: dkeg
Thank you all for your compliments!
@wux, I actually have not tried the blur effect with compton. I blur the wall with hsetroot.

Code: Select all
hsetroot -fill|tile /path/to/wall -blur [n]

Re: dkeg
I'll never upload a scrot again :) Beautiful, Drew.
Interesting thing with feh as previewer, totally independently I was looking into the feh and sxiv manpages, for a kind of wallpaper setter, but I failed - well, feh has a mosaic preview but allows multiple files to be chosen and sent to STDOUT. A single one would be better.

^ lol, so true mate :D
@ Julius, maybe we can add something to feh, through programming or something ? Or fork it since it is used so much here? FEH-BBQ patch etc ;)

Speechless.
Re: dkeg
A couple things I've created for use with feh. A quick preview for walls. (Adjust geometry to suit yourself). Add to your aliases
usage is
I also put together a small script to take your current wall from .xinitrc and present a cool view for scrots.
Enjoy!
Code: Select all
alias preview='feh -g 450x300+500+200 -R .01 --zoom fill'
Code: Select all
preview /path/to/wall
Code: Select all
#! /bin/bash
## wallview
## An cool view of your current wall
## dependant on feh
# set your geometry as desired
# adjust $display as needed based; this is based on my setup
# for example; my config is ... hsetroot -fill /data/walls/wall.jpg &
# the -R .01 is redraw. Without it, the preview comes up blank at first
geom='-g 450x300+500+200'
params="-R .01 --zoom fill"
display=$(cat ~/.xinitrc|grep hsetroot|cut -d ' ' -f3,4|awk '{sub(/&/,"");print}')
feh $geom $params $display
