dkeg, what is the script to show the colors in a grid as you do in this thread?

apologize chorizo, didnt' see this ...
the top one is just something I added in my .bashrc, specific to my set-up, to cat the color file and append a colorscript called spectrum. There's a thread in here somewhere with a link to a shit ton of color scripts that stark had put together.
The bottom I think was just a larger window with a generic color script, then I reduced the size of the window - and magic!
-------------------
New colors and a reconfigured, manicured set-up. Single notification kick off from .xinitrc for system stats, battery, time. Also a color syncer to read current color file, generate the wall, update gtk colors.
colors: skigh
font: bleed2
wall: xsetroot -bitmap $walls/tile.xbm -bg "$(xrdb -query | grep "*background" | awk '{print $2}')" -fg "$(xrdb -query | grep "*color0" | awk '{print $2}')"

Random script on start for a different colorscheme. Basically, every scheme looks the same, but with different colors.
wmutils
font: vixusans
colors: paints
weechat, tmux, urxvt
wall: xsetroot -mod 12 2 -bg "$(xrdb -query | grep "*background" | awk '{print $2}')" -fg "$(xrdb -query | grep "*color8" | awk '{print $2}')"

^ nice background and interesting font.
awk can grep:
Code: Select all
xsetroot -mod 12 2 -bg "$(xrdb -query | awk '/\*background/ {print $2}')" -fg "$(xrdb -query | awk '/\*color8/ {print $2}')"
Tell me to shut up if you don't want to hear this.

Thanks frank. Yes, but it has always been right there for me, on the bench. I just adjusted my configs and began using it a bit more now. It's nice to be lazy and let the wm manage my windows. The window movement with the herbst has always been really natural for me.
Also been using its wmexec function, in conjunction with cwm to go back and forth.
wmutils is still a fav of course, and had some fun with
