Yes, I can start forgetting that OS X users have just as much access to the Unix command line. I definitely makes it much more livable, especially with Homebrew.

^ On my parents MacBook Pro :) I am planning on upgrading to a 1TB HDD on my T410 in the near future which I will then (hopefully) turn into a Hackintosh/BBQ dual-boot.

Playing with XFCE4 on a Hipster install. Much lighter than Xubuntu :D I needed to use LibreOffice but didn't want to bloat any of my other installs, but I feel bad pulling in all the dependencies on this install too!

On a side note, I might change the URxvt icon to the Adwaita one instead of Tango... it will probably go better with the dark theme.

^ Looks good. 63M starting Xfce is not bad at all.

I see you are using the experimental version of env-info. Can you do me a favor and post the output of the following command?

Code: Select all

grep 'model name' /proc/cpuinfo
(the script parses this file and I want to see if it is being done correctly)

Decided to pick up icewm after oogling at some of Darry and Chef's scrots. Nothing notable, but it has been my no-frills workhorse for the last several weeks. It really starts to grow on me and I am particularly enjoying the Ubuntu-esqe wm theme :D

It took me an embarrassingly long time to get it up and humming, but here it is: FreeBSD. Memory usage is looking a little high only because I have Emacs in another workspace :)

(FreeBSD reminds me quite a bit of Slackware, except some files can be confusingly different than their GNU/Linux counterparts.)

The wallpaper is indicative of a recent interest in spending some time south of the border - I would love to visit SE Asia in the near future but flights to Bangkok are more than twice the price than flying to Mexico City :D Sounds pleasant, really.

Thanks :D

@wux Ha! That's about it! I have close friends in Del Rio, Texas who live on the river and can sometimes see illegals trying to swim across the Rio Grande. The problem is that more often than not they are drug-carrying mules for the violent cartels that operate just on the other side :/ It can make it an unsafe situation for families who live on the border.

@chef The crazy CPU spacing? It seems to be something with my computer.

The double @Ghz thing. I think on my AMD computers it didn't give it so I added it, then found out on the Intel it was getting included. Thats my story sticking with it.

In between working on school and playing with FreeBSD+wmutils I decided to give an Ubuntu development build a spin. Not bad, feeling comfy with some Openbox bloat :D

MirBSD's Korn fork has been fun to play with in the last few days - feels much lighter/comfortable than the Oh-My-Zsh stuff I usually pile on!

(For the record, I do most of my school-related activities on Adipositas now. Org-mode for taking notes and I rarely need anything that requires X.org)
