Mac OS 8.6 running in bluebox mode under Mac OSX Server 1.2 (Rhapsody). Wow, look how little RAM the OS and Netscape Navigator 4.5 are using...

Too cool! And where did you find that Netscape? Retro sexiness!

^ It came with the Mac OS 8.6 environment on the Mac OSX Server 1.2 disk, that I downloaded from here:

That is pretty dank, bones :D I must say, the more I play with it, the more I think OS X isn't an awful proprietary Unix. I would much rather be using it than Canonical's traitorous Ubuntu on top of Windows ;)

^ Every time you call something "dank" I think of this:
adjective, danker, dankest.
1.unpleasantly moist or humid; damp and, often, chilly:
a dank cellar.
I had to look up "dank slang" to find this:
Dank
Also an expression requently used by stoners and hippies for something of high quality.
That borritos was dank, man.

Bones, that 8.6 scrot took me back somewhat!
stopped using MacOs with 9.2, only because all my machines died.

I have to say; I find the same :D

@pidsley & wux :D I didn't even think about it. After Colorado legalized recreational pot all sorts of new words have been trickling into the vocabulary of surrounding states :) I didn't realize that it was a direct part of hippie/stoner culture, I actually assumed it was another SoCal-ism like rad or using "like" every other word.

@bones Nice! I've been loving Slackware Current.

In Dutch we use 'dank u' as 'thank you' but we are a bunch of potheads so that makes any sense :P

TWM, I still got a weak spot for it. It did the job on my older machines back in the day. It's easy, little and fast, 3 good reasons in my opinion :)

^ hahahaha damn, never even considered that "dank" was indeed a Dutch word as well...

Debian 8.4 with Cinnamon. Actually, I'm quite impressed. Everything is very smooth and fast, particularly with desktop effects turned off. Bunch of X apps running, including Iceweasel, Inkscape, and GIMP, and RAM usage at 500MB. Not too shabby.

Look at that task bar. :D

Impressive resource usage with Cinnamon.

OK, I admit it. I have become an unabashed fan of cinnamon since using it with Debian, and now Slackware. For a full-featured DE, it is my new choice.

Happy Walpurgisnacht, my friends! :P

Who would have thought of that? :) I can remember I enjoyed it a bit on a BBQ spin IIRC.

Messing around with twm on Slackware, going for a plan9/9front/rio look. Still need to tweak the .Xresources...

I have a Plan9 on a disc that I boot up every once in a while just to remind myself how very little I actually know about anything, lols :))
Looking good, bones!
