Re: Chef presents 'Sir Scrotalot' a scrotactacular.
Most info in the scrot sorry for so much net I still believe I am following the BBQ way... grasshopper.
I switched to 2bwm as a daily driver a few days ago (blame it dkeg). Had packages to port to pkgsrc and or go around it, seemed like a lot of work. So less time spent on the tweakage. That is lemonbar - krypt port with xft font support, pulled the script from here a Dr post based on dkegs old stuff, changed to awesome font and updated to speak netly. I still use xterm for some reason I just cant get the rxvt and bitfonts to looks as good. Zebra's tmux.conf IIRC and played around with the info a bit.
And then...
EDIT: I C now imgur changes png to jpg to save space.

That's really nice! Is that true that fonts are nicer in xterm? And brown colors, so you know I like it

Re: Chef presents 'Sir Scrotalot' a scrotactacular.
For me not sure why I cant get urxvt to render the same. I see everyone else doing bitfont just fine. I can copy a good working .Xresource file and use the same fonts and I don't get the same results. I think its tied into ratio 4:3 16:9 16:10 or whatever the latest ones are for wide screens. I think there is a setting in .Xresource for that and urxvt.scale or ratio. I would have to take a closer look. The huge plus for me would be, to not having to patch xft to dmenu, lemonbar or xosd whatever I am using at the time.dkeg wrote:Is that true that fonts are nicer in xterm?
And thanks was going for a charcoal bbq thing.

That is looking really nice, Chef! You have inspired me to give 2bwm a try! I have never really gotten to that one yet.

^
^^ gracias
For me 2bwm is the Dwm of stacking. I say that since it uses a similar config.h and you compile. But also the default keystrokes are nice and sane no real need for a mouse but you can use if you want.
If you really want to see some inspiration take a look at the desktops moving thread and how streamlined the work flow is and can be. http://linuxbbq.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1910

thanks amigos
Now that I have created these ports I can get to streamlining my process.
Edit: Evil Blacksmith I will take ;) umm and again the bar came from dkeg all I did was tweak some ugly into it.

Re: Chef presents 'Sir Scrotalot' a scrotactacular.
Had the same question even after looking at z3bra's .xintrc
as it turns out I add this bit on the end of mine,
Here are the tidbits I gathered and I will update my git later on today.
I used z3bra's sxhkdrc already sane.
'wew' and 'yawee' come from the wmutils core & wmutils opt IIRC.
'xwait' was the thing that I needed to build from the c code (I did there were other options) its on z3bra's git site linked above. (EDIT: built this like and mv to path for me /usr/pkg/bin or ~/bin.
There is also more scripts(corner, fullsize, etc) on the z3bra's git that you will not find on the wmutils github contrib.
And last but not least there is a x-move-resize that comes from the no-wm project via tinywm that will let you do the mouse move resize bit. I haven't done that yet all keyboard at the moment.
EDIT: that is all from memory currently on OpenBSD and CWM lappy.
as it turns out I add this bit on the end of mine,
Code: Select all
sxhkd &
wew | yawee &
# pulse & // will probably use later. cycles x colors based on a .colors directory.
exec xwait

Re: Chef presents 'Sir Scrotalot' a scrotactacular.
Great thanks! I already have wm-utils cloned and am aware of z3bra's scripts. Its just as matter of piecing them all together properly. And thanks for explaining the xintrc part, that will help alot. Maybe I'll tackle that project this weekend. Depends.

Re: Chef presents 'Sir Scrotalot' a scrotactacular.
thanks @chef, I'm up and running with *nothing*. Reconfigured my sxhkd with my xbindkey settings. With its config options definitely makes for a cleaner config.

^^ I doubt it... I kinda was telling the end of the story.
^ yeah its lean and mean and its going to be fun to tweak.
Did you do the x-move-resize thing ? I may leave out at least for a few more days.

No, I never use that. But I might just to have for the 3 times I will. Definitely is faster than 3px at a time. I would like to have max vert/horiz too. I use that often.
For the sxhkd config, you can do in one line what took 4 seperate settings. Really cool

Re: Chef presents 'Sir Scrotalot' a scrotactacular.
Code: Select all
mod4 + shift + {h,j,k,l}
wmv {-40 0,0 +40, 0 -40, +40 0} $(pfw)
mod4 + alt + shift + {h,j,k,l}
wrs {-40 0,0 +40, 0 -40, +40 0} $(pfw)
The keys and command stacking per line is also very nice of sxhkd (baskerville.)
