I have nothing against icon(s) as long as it serves you well ( like on the mobile phone perhaps )...

For me it's been pretty useful for such thing as when i bought a netbook for the in-law months ago, her eyes just couldn't see the small(ish) fonts that well, hence the big icons were needed.

and nice scrot ivan! love the wallpaper

Sorry, Ivan! I didn't think about trying to load Imgur on your older hardware. I agree, they are pretty colorful, but at least they go with Skoal Cherry :D (I am a walking fruitloop...)

@MB I didn't know about the option to disable icons altogether! I need to be more attentive when I am messing with things. Thanks :)

monochrome icons are not that bad, really. i just hate the fucking rainbow of bullshit that the general icon-collection spews onto my screen. keep it within my fucking colourscheme, man! what the fuck...

Well that was an interesting google search...

Yeah icons for touch - certainly, for the elderly (whacked up to 128x128) totally.

Showing Slackware 14.1 some love on the now retired HP laptop. It needs something stable and unique.

No Pulse, no Gtk3, no systemd and hunting dependencies. :P

Xfce rocking with Infinality compiled by myself. Looks even better than on Debian with MS fonts. Compiled Kodi for more than an hour from slackbuilds. :D

Downloaded Chrome script from Slackware extra and converted the deb to a slack package, a bit crazy but was fast enough.

Of course all packages are older but you can put on what you want, all dev-tools are on board.

^^ i've been using this https://github.com/dslackw/slpkg lately as it make installing slackware packages from multiple repos (including salix and ponce repos, as i'm super lazy) easier....

and i ditched that 14.2 install, came back to 14.1 as well. :)

Very, very cool ivan.
To think my idea of excitement was to install ubuntu MATE on my spare machine. (the shame of it, although it works nice)

^ I have tried Ububububuntu Matey, it works very well for work tbh. And not exciting as you say lol.
The good bit is that Martin Wimpress is using it, so updates etc come rather fast :)

Looks good -- look at you, slacking and building. I remember back on the munch forum when you didn't want to use dwm because you had to build it... (-:

^ You always learn new things and actually building stuff on Slackware is straight forward. Just looking at the readme files.

But yes I was taught otherwise.

15.10 looks almost the same. I ripped it off but it runs way way lighter.
