FVWM- Crystal
Ok, so feast your eyes on some bloat, lols. But I had to have a few things to comfort me when one of the other wm's get me close to the "have hammer, will fix" option. So here is my Pysol (I never install without it), my Deadbeef basic, and my gpodder.
And yes, those are icons. Bloat city!
In my defense, this Crystal desktop just begs for extra stuff, lols.
I believe I'm using the used recipe "top down" I generally don't change the fonts unless they are too small and unclear (these weren't), and the wallpaper I got from a ddg search for "Linux wallpapers"

This is XFCE4 over Xfwm4. I just let the xfce4 desktop do its thing, added a wallpaper, and voila!

Seeing Solitaire just immediately makes me think of Windows :D

Have to say tried Foobar 2000 back in the days, it ran flawlessly.

Thanks, y'all! The hardest time I ever had installing pysolfc was with puppy linux. I had fits! Quirky was a really great setup- he had some neat little home made apps! I think That's one of the things that first impressed me with bbq- the whole bbq menu :)
Any ways, I am working on mastering a much less bloated wm and desktop- will scrot it when I get happy with the results! :) Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

whispers back- will have to check out Mises Daily and love Nader

This is an updated xfce4 on top of xfwm. I lightened the panels to keep the distraction down (25%- 75% when the mouse hovers over it). I need BIG fonts for my usually dark environment (sleeper of my truck), so ya get the sizing and the bold oblique for that Deja Vu.
I have been working on a Razor Qt desktop on Sawfish, but have hit a few hurdles there :( It isn't as tweaky as I would like it to be, and now I have to deal with a damn greeter screen :/
When I get it like I want it I will scrot it- pinky swear!
Lols! I hope you guys had a better weekend than moi!
Btw, did ya notice Alex the Alligator is standing in for the missing Atomic Tanks icon? LMFAO!

^ <sarcasm="yeah, wow - those lightened panels sure help with that distraction free look"/> :P

I did wonder what an alligator has to do with tanks.

Lols! It beats the heck outta the solid hot pink just begging the old eyes to "lookie up here!"
I know, I'm a panel junkie, lols!
I might try my hand at making an icon for Atanks, but I foresee a fail in that venture!

Gotcha! I think I'll dig through the icons and see what I can find! A purple panel? Could go with that...Maybe a blend of purple /yellow. Louisiana State University colors ;)
I'll work on it and scrot it when I'm done! I would rather tinker with this than that Razor Qt mess- a LOT of work there....

Sorry, Wux! I creamed my Cream install with an attempt at a controlled upgrade. I wasn't paying enough attention- will teach me never to try something like that with a severe lack of sleep, lols!
So I decided to download Break! and do my best to do just that, lols! I built Mate over the top of Openbox just to see if I could, and voila! I actually like it a bit. That free sans font set at 12 with bold oblique, hinting, vertical BRG.
SystemD and lightdm. Although I am a little conccerned with the kernel (see the uname -a in the terminal)
What do you think? King of bloat?

Yeah :( I am running stuff in the background, but I need to upgrade the RAM on this box. I have 2gb, but it will take 4gb. As soon as I come across the extra $$ that will be my first purchase! Systemd was installed as a dependency :(
Funny thing is, I was running Brasero, Iceweasel, Deadbeef, Conky, Gpodder (dl'ing podcasts), and the roxterm (playing with the conky.conf), and it was still 97% with no hangs or lags.
I was downloading Violator and Eseszsegedre ISO's as well. I also noticed that the OS never picked up the swap partition on my drive.
Funny it's even working!
