Re: GA-KO scrot
Wow, very nice! You have a penchant for colors, much like some of the other grillers here :) I don't have nearly the same eye.
I'm in the same camp with the browsers! I usually have several installed D: Either conkeror and xombrero are usually my "lighter" browsers and Vivaldi or PaleMoon for more bloat-intensive surfing (Hulu, Netflix, etc.). And if you count text browsers, I may have w3m in Emacs and elinks in tty. You can see why I can't achieve the same package counts others can do!

Finally got some time to update my jessie to unstable. Not a bbq spin, but still the grillin spirit. vtwm yup
Re: GA-KO scrot
The grillin spirit works :) I like the colourscheme and ofcourse vtwm.
Re: GA-KO scrot
That is beautiful.
Re: GA-KO scrot
Lov it, GA_KO. Great stuff with the skull and all.
Re: GA-KO scrot
thx, I like my backgrounds to usually take on my xcolor theme some what.
Here is a little file hockey I use for my background walls
Needs image magick for convert.
Looks better with more minimal wallpapers. If there is a lot of shit going on in the image
it starts to look like a washed out newspaper.

Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
BG=$(appres | awk '/background/{print$2}')
FG=$(appres | awk '/foreground/{print$2}')
WALL=$1
convert "$WALL" "${WALL%%.*}".xbm
convert "${WALL%%.*}".xbm "${WALL%%.*}".xpm
sed -i "s/white/$BG/g" "${WALL%%.*}".xpm
sed -i "s/black/$FG/g" "${WALL%%.*}".xpm
hsetroot -fill "${WALL%%.*}".xpm

Re: GA-KO scrot
very cool. I usually go the other way, create colors based on the colors in the walll. I also like that you're using appres.
Work hard; Complain less
Re: GA-KO scrot
thank you, A little limited as that tiny script only uses bg and fg colors.
With dedication and hours I'm sure someone could come up with a way to sed in
other colors into the .xpm file.
My favorite theme I've made for vtwm uses m4 macros to pipe out xcolor theme definitions
for window / border / icon etc. colors. You set your xcolor theme, reload and boom.
I wrote it using your xcolor themes actually :) I'll show some of my dkeged vtwm scrots eventually

Looking good!
It's great to see someone still using a tracker. Any chance I could have a listen to some of your creations?

Re: GA-KO scrot
Oh I've played around with Amiga's plenty, but found them thoroughly underwhelming compared to a 80286 12MHz with an Adlib sound card and a Paradise VGA card :)
