[Solved] MOC segmentation fault

Google your problem first. Check the Wiki. Read the existing threads. It's okay to "hijack" an existing thread, yes! If your problem is not yet covered, open a new thread. To get the quickest possible help, mention the exact release codename in your post (uname -a is a good idea, too). Due to the lack of crystal balls, attach the output of lspci -nnk if you encounter hardware problems.

[Solved] MOC segmentation fault

Unread post by kexolino » Sun Mar 02, 2014 7:44 pm

Did a dist-upgrade today (haven't done for 2 or 3 days) and now:

Code: Select all

─╼ mocp
Segmentation fault
and

Code: Select all

─╼ mocp -D
Segmentation fault
I ried renaming the ~/.moc folder and purging/reinstalling, but nothing changes.
Does it do this for anyone else? Any ideas where to start looking for a solution? The majority of Google hits are really old threads and mostly compile problems...

Yes, I noticed this today as well. I have not tried to troubleshoot it yet.

I've been using cmus, so hadn't noticed, but reading this, I just checked, and yes, happening for me too.

Sounds familiar somehow. Maybe it is still this bug:

Same here. Hope they'll fix it soon, I'm too used to moc.

Edit: installing this version of librcc fixed it for me.

Had the same problem in killX those days and did as Manu wrote it, by installing the said library.

Thanks. I actually wanted to wait and see how long it would take for a fix to come with a dist-upgrade, but I don't like cmus as much (it's what I've been using as a backup); like Gekko, I needz my MOC :) So I gave up and installed that lib, working fine now.

Latest librcc0 doesn't brake moc.

Code: Select all

librcc0:
  Installed: 0.2.12-0.1
  Candidate: 0.2.12-0.1
  Version table:
 *** 0.2.12-0.1 0
        500 http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ unstable/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
