Unread post by dkeg » Sun Jun 08, 2014 1:12 pm

Upgrade this morning wants to bring in libwxgtk3.0-0. I didn't know why or for what. I have filezilla installed and that has an update coming in as well, so with a quick

Code: Select all

depends filezilla
I have found the culprit. Bye Bye filezilla.

Code: Select all

purge filezilla filezilla-common
Note, I forgot the filezilla-common first time around
Sorry for all the scrots, I thought it would be fun!

Not exactly a warning, so I move it to support. :)

As replacement, you can try gftp or go with wput and CLI (s)ftp :)

^exactly.

DD, you're right, not a true warning, really better 'alert' would have sufficed more. It was a gtk3 warning!

I used to grab either filezilla or gftp with new installs, now I either use ftp directly from cli, or Thunar for GUI, works great.

^ I knew there must be a way to do it in mc, but hadn't looked into the matter. Thanks for the tip!
