BB GUI Editor

Hi all,

I had a question in a previous thread and I figured I would start a new thread with this so that I don't get my original tutorial off topic. Currently I have been creating my tutorial in a text editor and copy and pasting it into the forum here. I have done this for quite some time but was hoping that times changed and there was an easier way. Besides my screen being too small, my second problem is having a WYSIWYG live preview as I'm outlining and formatting the code.

It would be sweeter than that crazy avatar I have if I could have something that helped this out a bit and saved it as bb code so I didn't have to keep clicking preview and sliding down that long tutorial to see the changes I made. ...

All ears...

This is what I have so far but I'd rather just have a linux or win client. (Hmmm worse case this might be a customization to a linuxbbq distribution which will need me to install a small web server with php.)

The biggest problem with this forum in particular and a handful like it is that it defaults to a dark background which makes you have to take a bit more time if you like the standard white (or lighter) background like I set my forum default as. A big reason is that my eyes are getting worse as I'm getting older and the dark background template on this site had such a small font.

pros
provides a full screen demo area on their webpage http://www.wysibb.com/demo/ to allow you to use it live if you dont want to install on a web server

cons
no background color
no selecting a block of items and pressing tab to indent them
I found one instance when ctrl-z doesn't work when selecting text and using the TAB key to indent it then trying to undo what it erased.

This is a firefox addon and so far is my closest match. Wonder if the developer can fix at least just the background color tag
pros
Can edit right on the actual bulletin board/forum by right clicking on the text area

cons
background color output code doesn't use bgcolor tag but you can than later easily run a search/replace and fix it
no selecting a block of items and pressing tab to indent them
