I just put the latest version of LinuxBBQ on a USB drive and I loaded up the live session. I tried to update the repos and this is my output:

Is this supposed to happen?

Also, I saw this image on the LinuxBBQ sourceforge page for the latest version: Image

How can I get this exact desktop using Cream or something else? I don't see fvwm in the available wm on the list. Ideally I would like to create a fresh install with this exact desktop environment. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated. Thanks all.

Hello,

#1 - don't worry about it, the siduction sources on the Cream ISO have changed. Anyway, it is not necessary to update/upgrade Cream -- Debian sid has moved very fast and changed a lot, you would break the system with a dist-upgrade. Keep it "live".

#2 - that's quite easy to build up from scratch. Take some release (if no-X, add xauth, xinit, xorg-server, suckless-tools, some terminal emulator like rxvt-unicode) and add fvwm1 from the repos.
In /usr/share/doc/examples/ you find a few example setups, pipe them into a new file like this:

lesspipe /usr/share/doc/examples/system.fvwmrc.gz > ~/.fvwmrc

Check the "GoodStuff" section in the config file for the panel and dock stuff. The config is quite self-explaining.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for the help. I just noticed that the OS in the screenshot I posted is "LinuxBBQ Done". Is this the same one that is in the LinuxBBQ sourceforge page from back in January? And where can I find more information about LinuxBBQ Done? I can't seem to find anything on this boards.

^ 'done' may well have been a test spin by Machinebacon - I'm very sure it wasn't ever released, as MB says, it's pretty easy to knock up your own spin, the time spent looking for something that can't be found would be better spent learning how to create what you like, rather than simply 'own' it.

The thing with using Sid, as most BBQ spins do, any old ones are not guaranteed to update successfully.
But then we're mostly all crafters, customisers and DIYers around here.

Yes, it was just a 'have a try if you like' spin: http://www.linuxbbq.org/bbs/viewtopic.p ... 58&p=34874

I updated some information in the support section. This should be your first read:

http://linuxbbq.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2277#p46126

Secondly:
#1 - don't worry about it, the siduction sources on the Cream ISO have changed. Anyway, it is not necessary to update/upgrade Cream -- Debian sid has moved very fast and changed a lot, you would break the system with a dist-upgrade. Keep it "live".
As Bacon stated. That is the way to do it. Otherwise there is no support.

Then there were also some changes in the Debian world and in Siduction. IIRC the Uni Stuttgart repos from Debian are dead and Experimental from Siduction, too. The reason why you see those errors.

If you want to play with some of the newest editions from the grill, look at the release section and date.

I don't think you can save any changes like repository changes or keyrings on Livecd.

You can install it. Then, Search debian-archive-keyring on here for forum with info.
I think it was sudo apt-get install debian-keyring, and " " debian-archive-keyring, " " siduction-archive-keyring. Installing those 3 from terminal will let u update it.
DO NOT DIST-UPGRADE.

2nd Motion, You will break it.
Maybe not on 1st try, but it will... Just broke mine again yesterday :D
Use clonezilla or dd a copy of the fresh install. Turn new installation on once to test CHANGE NOTHING. Turn it off copy somewhere. Then go nuts and reinstall as needed. Clonzilla takes about 5 min to put it back to factory.
Thank You!

Sorry, guess I just vot excited to see something I could actually answer and be helpful on, didn't look at the date...

Took me over an hr with searching to find that keyring thread, so figured i might as well attach the answer to the same question i had while it was fresh in my mind. Maybe spare someone else some time trying to find it.
Thank You!

Closing then because it has no relevance.
