Hi all,

Anyone know why bork 64 doesn't see cupsys to run apt-get install cupsys nor is it in apt-cache search cupsys.

Am I missing a repository. I have the default repositories installed and would figure something like that would be in the original repositories.

Thanks

a Google search for "cupsys debian" only reveals packages named "cups". i suppose the printing shit is what you're looking for? install cups. never heard of cupsys, and apparently, neither have Debian's repos - so i'd say you're not missing anything, this is supposed to happen :)
(unless i'm completely missing something)

I only know of cups and indeed, the BBQs normally do not ship it.

Thanks problem solved. Some debian documentation said use

Code: Select all

#apt-get install cupsys cupsys-driver-gutenprint foomatic-db-gutenprint foomatic-filters fontconfig libtiff4 libfreetype6
Then I did a search for cups

Code: Select all

#search cups
and only the cups library showed up in the result list.

Thanks!

Most of us use lpr(-ng) for simple print jobs, maybe something to consider as lightweight alternative :)
