missing modeline on cf-y5; adding mode doesn't help.

I tried the cream release with the 915 option. I have a toughbook cf-y5, with i945 and 1400x1050. Then I see

Code: Select all

xrandr
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768
default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1024x768 61.0*
800x600 61.0
640x480 60.0

This concerns me because it does not display my 1400x1050 that I get on other systems. Then I tried creating and adding a mode.

Code: Select all

cvt -r 1400 1050 60

Code: Select all

 xrandr --newmode "1400x1050R" 101.00 1400 1448 1480 1560 1050 1053 1057 1080 +hsync -vsync
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 16 (RRCreateMode)
Serial number of failed request: 19
Current serial number in output stream: 19

Anyhow, this might help someone else, even if I can't get it right.
When I set the mode in arandr I get:

Setting this resolution is not possible here: A part of an output is outside the virtual screen[/color]

Hmm my bad. I tried booting another option, and it appeared to pick up my modes.

Thanks for reporting back, I have the CF-T5 and it runs quite nicely in correct resolution. In fact it is one of my test machines before I upload ISOs. If it doesn't pass there, it doesn't pass anywhere :)
