[solved] kernel 3.8.2 and e1000e network

Unread post by o.g. » Tue Mar 05, 2013 6:44 pm

Hello the Grills !

Today I noticed some problems with kernel 3.8.2/3.8.1 (from towo) and
e1000e network driver.
It is well known (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=677638)
hat laptop-mode disables wired network when running on battery, so that
I modified (two monts ago) the right conf file to have battery and wired network.

Today the bad new is
1) with battery, the boot is very long and I do not have wired network.
ethtool eth0 gives "nothing known" : 4 lines only
2) with ac adapter, the boot is very long ( systemd-analyze blame =>
62108ms networking.service) but I have wired network.

I noticed (elitist) also that by default new user has bash shell but without any configuration.
So perhaps that adding minimal bash settings or choosing zsh by default should
be modified.

Updated : I tried with a pure-siduction-usb distrib and everything was fine. So I tried
again elitist and everything was fine. So
