Unread post by wuxmedia » Sat Jun 01, 2013 11:34 pm

eh?
no trackpad...
upd'ed live system, installed gpm, trakpad moves cursor on tty no probs. so not a laptop error (fn f7 is kill trackpad. has happened before)
plug in usb mouse. no probs, posting on mate64
trckpad doesnt show up on mate 'mouse' config.
looks lovely, not too keen to install, if i have to load some synaptic drivers.
actually i ins'd synaptic package, no joy, says no module loaded.

dmesg | grep pad gives;

Code: Select all

bbq@grill:~$ sudo dmesg | grep pad
[    6.665296] psmouse serio4: synaptics: Touchpad model: 1, fw: 6.2, id: 0x12a0b1, caps: 0xa04713/0x204000/0x0, board id: 3655, fw id: 41763

Already pressed the magic "turn touchpad on/off" combo (Fn + F3 or so) on your laptop?

sorry to quote myself.
Fn+F7 is the key on the Acer, and i have had it happen before. slipping keys between ttys.
and i tried it the tty gpm moves the cursor 'pointer'

doesn't it get detected at boot? after that i have no idea what gets loaded....

Hmmm, wux - I'll check it later on a laptop (synaptics but on an IdeaPad) and let you know :)
