[SOLVED] Moving ahead... need siduction public keys

Unread post by Sector11 » Mon Aug 26, 2013 4:26 pm

Busy day yesterday ... 1st of 2 posts looking for help.

In preparation of moving ahead, I deleted three partitions /media/5, 6 & 7 and created

/media/5 - my docs, downloads, images, conkys, videos etc etc (was a 'tad' nervous for this one)
- - the backup (rsync): copied over perfectly!
/media/6 - darkside root (re-install today/tomorrow)
/media/7 - darkside home (re-install today/tomorrow)
/media/8 - bbq test root
/media/9 - bbq test home
/media/10 - bbq NO-GUI (a future event) Thanks to ppl here - VirtualBox first.

To bring my current Debian SID system in line I switched to the same repos BBQ uses and doing an update I get:

Code: Select all

Fetched 11.6 MB in 46s (247 kB/s)
Reading package lists... Done
W: GPG error: http://packages.siduction.org unstable InRelease: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 15CBD88045C45076

In a word: Please ... HELP! Where do I get the keys?
- StartPaged: siduction public key
- I have half a dozen tab open - I see ssh keys (?)

Hey S11.

Short answer: search for "how do i get the siduction keys"

Shorter answer:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install siduction-archive-keyring
In future, if you see errors like this (you will probably also see one about Liquorix) do this:

Code: Select all

apt-cache search keyring
and install the appropriate package from the search results.

there's this from siduction, about halfway down;
http://siduction.org/index.php?name=PNp ... 81&start=0

which the 'oldschool' method is the same principal as here,
http://linuxbbq.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?f ... it=+public

basically you have the keys, just need to point the things to the lock. (probably not the right explanation)
good luck

dammint pidsley beat me too it.

@ pidsley

OK ... Thank you very much.

Which only goes to show words are important!

Code: Select all

how do i get the siduction keys vs siduction public key
apt-cache search keyring showed nothing as it's not here so ...I got it!

Code: Select all

Gotta love that warning.

@ wuxmedia - Thank you too, I have those links open now as well and will read.
Just saw pidsley's reply to you --- I'll do the same. :D

This is great - my Debian system falling into step and I have room to play!

umm... the first hit in this search (on "siduction public key"): https://startpage.com/do/search?key=sid ... blic%20key would give you the answer.

@ wuxmedia

I hate being called an expert. 'knowledgeable' is better.

ex = has been ... (s)pert = a drip under pressure.

so for me you're 'knowledgeable' on the subject. :D

And that 'workaround' is pretty slick as well. I wounder if I had done those 2 gpg steps and then

Code: Select all

apt-cache search keyring
if it would have been there, which it is now.

food for another day ...
