Pcmanfm additional files[solved]

Unread post by pottzie » Wed Sep 25, 2013 1:07 pm

installed Fluxbox, and I like having a GUI file manager. When I went to install pcmanfm, I got some 'recommended ad-ons' that were, I think, gvs-backends, gvs-fuse, lxde-icon-theme, gnome-icon-theme, oxygen-icon-theme, and tango-icon-theme. when I added that to the install, it shows about a bajillion new files will be installed. That's a bit much, all I want is a quick way to see what I have in my Home folder, etc.

And as of right now, I can't highlight text or copy using the middle mouse button. Found that I need to edit /etc/x11/xorg.conf but when I bring that up it shows as an empty file. How to get the middle mouse button working?

gvfs-backends (IIRC) pulls in libgtk-3-0 and stuff, that's probably the problem.

Code: Select all

gvfs-backends
gvfs-fuse
lxde-icon-theme
gnome-icon-theme
oxygen-icon-theme
tango-icon-theme
These are just recommended packages. Try to install with this option, --no-recommends.
And look at the needed packages:

Code: Select all

apt-cache depends pcmanfm

Installed pcmanfm, had no icons. Then installed gnome-icon-theme, and icons were there.

@ivan: the -no-recommends is a default setting in BBQ, so I wonder what base the OP uses if they got pulled in.
@icons: you can get the lightest icons with tango-icon-theme or lxde-icon-theme (and hit lxappearance afterwards), the gnome set is comparably big.

^ Thanks Ivanovic :)

Pottzie, what's the BBQ base you were using to perform these actions?
