Hi all,
I am new here. Found out about LinuxBBQ after looking at some screenshots on #! forums.

Will be downloading a flavor of XFCE to run it on my low end Netbook (1gb RAM Intel Atom), but before I choose one of the editions, I have one question:

Would someone be able to tell me what version is the following screenshot based on as well as the theme?

Hi,
welcome to the grill. The posted scrot is not a default theme, but a modified gtk-theme (IIRC based on Mist). Basically you can make any XFCE look like this.
If you are interested, I'll write a little HOWTO on how to customize gtk themes, it's no big deal.
The wallpaper is coming from here: http://www.loc.gov/pictures/item/2009630116/
The icon set is "ACYL" (Any Color You Like)

If you are willing to learn a bit about Linux, start with Tiny/Base, and add xserver-xorg and xfce4 on top of it. If you like it more comfortable, check the XFCE4 base. You can always add any kind of Desktop Environment or Window Manager on top of any edition. http://www.linuxbbq.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=507 <- Coal is a good place to start. It's not XFCE but LXDE, but yeah, adding XFCE on top is just an "apt-get install xfce4" away.

If you could write a HOW TO, I would be greatful.

I have only been on linux for 7 months, very little experience with OB, some with XFCE and MATE.

I shall give the COAL a try as well as Arrogance. Most likely will stumble upon some issues as always but thats because of my knowledge in Linux being rather limited sometimes.

Downloading now the wallpaper in question and wrote down the icon theme name and gtk theme.

I don't think that anyone will disagree with me here, but as long as you're willing to do some homework on your own, that you'll find us a helpful and useful crew. Always remember to read the man pages about whatever topic you're curious about, and to search the internet and wiki for any issues that you have. i stuck 3 days on how to resize tmux-pane like "what is this resize-pane all about?" hah!!

then i realize that is not "resize-pane" but ":resize-pane" with this little ":"
