let's do the time warp agaain ( enough!) [SOLVED]

Unread post by !d!ot » Wed Oct 16, 2013 5:31 pm

ook, i managed to broke the installation for the third time (yuppieee)...is bot that broken but enough (ehehe)
dkpg complains for some things i will report here, obiviously i start googling for solution too, and i will report what i find but if someone know already what to do well here i am.. :D
the list!!!
dbus
consolekit
dbus-x11
udisks2
gvfs-daemons
gvfs:amd64
gvfs-backends
lightdm
lxsession-logout
lxsession
policykit-1
upower
rsyslog
and GdkPixbuf that kill half of the icons... but seems only a problem with a missing dir...
for what i could understand from term.log, to mee seems dbus and cosolekit almost do a mess..
for upower there's a bug warning.. is my pure fault...but seems all ok by now.
the result;
cannot access to my ntfs disks, some apps work in a strange way,
what i do so far;
i tried to reinstall the packages.. apt-get install reinstall, but nothing.. as expected,
what i would try now, reinstall enough, install by hand those packages before upgrading and check if this work..
starting from dbus, second consolekit... and pray...
thanks for any help..

here the logs;

Okay, that's not your fault, but the huge dependency horror related to udisks upgrade, dbus, systemd, the removal/upgrade of lxde's elements, and so on.

Code: Select all

su -
gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache
# force dpkg to configure these packages first
dpkg-reconfigure udisks2
dpkg-reconfigure dbus
# ignore the warnings about runlevels
apt-get install -f
# re-install the problem kids
apt-get install --reinstall upower udisks2 udisk gvfs-backends ntfs-3g
..gnutella..

done but no luck.. disks but i suppose is cause i already in the wrong way reinstalled the packages.
i try to restart in a clean situation, (so reinstall :D).. then first install the packages u point, then do the dist upgrade i suppose this will avoid the dep hell.

is funny that gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache report something that have no sense.
graypixel@graypxl:~$ su -
Password:

root@graypxl:~# gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache
-su: gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders: command not found

for this i've no idea that file exist but is 0 bytes.. i would try to do that command before upgrading and see what will happen...
or i do a bare dummy file as that son of a gun, seems to complain about not finding it.

i will report what will happen.

apt-get install --reinstall upower udisks2 udisks gvfs-backends ntfs-3g
and u have absolutely to reinstall gvfs gvfs-common gvfs-bin.. that allow gigolo to work again...

ok just to give the short version if u have the same problem use that..
there's only a variation this gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache

don't work as expected, the file produced is 0 bytes
u have to do apt-get install --reinstall libgdk-pixbuf2.0 to have again icons and background.

machinebacon i start to love you, know that..
no not that way.. (u maniac..)
