That's the idea, something like INX
http://inx.maincontent.net/ (watch the screencasts !!1!11!!)
ported to SID.
More on INX: http://linuxaria.com/recensioni/inx-com ... cd?lang=en
I loved to play with it in 2009, but since then I almost forgot about it, until plans for Siduction noX brought back memories…
Not long ago INX was added to the Distrowatch waiting list, but it doesn't seem to be very actively developed, to say the least.
So, it is old, it is on Ubuntu, and it probably takes more than some spices to make it edible, maybe the BBQ Chiefs have the skills (that I am surely lacking) to put it on the table
It could be a nice addition to the Barbie-Q spectrum (Speckdrum ?)
let me know what you think

Re: No X, but a Desktop?
Thank you for the suggestion, Arno, I'm in anyway :D
The first questions are:
- port it and fork it (or as we say "pork it")?
- make something similar from scratch?
tmux sounds good to me, and I think dvtm is the "window manager" used it INX - not sure if dvtm works in screen/tmux sessions. I love the TTY-desktops and the general idea behind INX. Ideas/suggestions are welcome, we'll definitely make something like this one happen in BBQ.
