Good morning grillers! It's a beautiful day here in Cascadia, gonna get into the mid-80s (F) here today. Rode to work this morning in shorts and t-shirt, very pleasant.

I hope today finds everyone well and happy! Enjoy!

Thanks, bones. We've had big storms the past three days, but it is clearing up now. Cooler, though.

Frreezing fog this morning, but plenty sunshine in the flatlands. (not holland, but draining was completed by rhows forefathers)
noticed I had to wear shades, because I sat in a darkened room in front of a screen all day - yay!

Good for you! I long for those days. Us, well, lots of rain. Flood is coming. Remember, the river is right behind my house. I'll send pictures. You thought there was a lot of water in the yard in previous pics .... This is the site I need to monitor

Not the hottest weather but for Germany acceptable 20 °C. Was the whole day outside and enjoying the nature with its little rivers with my better half.

Holy hell, Drew, that's some serious flooding! I'm glad everyone is OK, hopefully there's not much property damage.

Thanks all for your kind words.

The water is up the the windows of the garage. It is receding now. Rain is over. Hopefully we can get in tonight. I never realized my life was so fucking dramatic, but I guess it is. Did I tell you that I had to swim in the flood to try to save my cat. He ran up a tree. It was just crazy, like in the movies. Jumping through flooded pricker bushes, falling in the water. Hands and legs are all cut up. Just fuckin surreal. I had to leave him there. Have no idea if I'll ever see him again. Hopefully he stayed put.

Sorry bones for hijacking your thread with my fucked up drama.

thanks all for your friendship. Only internet buddies, but still means a lot to me.

^^ No worries, man. That is some serious weather drama, wow. The closest I've come is a tree falling on a house, and it wasn't even that bad. I'm just glad you and yours (critters included) are safe, with only minor damage, it sounds like. I hope your coming weekend is less eventful.

Stay safe Drew. I love my pets, but swimming after your cat is a good way to get yourself killed. Of course, I would probably do the same thing. I hope he found a dry spot and shows up soon.

According to the website you linked, this is a "minor" flood for the Schuylkill river. It's at 12.9 feet, and 12.5 feet is flood stage. In 2006 it got to 20 feet, and in 1972 it almost made 30 feet! I guess this is what happens when you let the Dutch name your river.

a minor flood? damn. sorry for naming your river :)

seriously, i've never been in such a situation, and though it will no doubt make for great tales once all is said and done, yesh, as Pidsley said, that is dangerous shit. pretty damn amazing you swimming out there after your cat man, you deserve applause and a beer and such. hope things will get better soon.
