kiiroitori, the next WC will be in Russia.

But yeah, the WC is more of a duckface competition, with gesticulating millionaires. ;)

What? Oh that's better. Those guys have four years now to laser-erase their tattoos and get a decent haircut!
Why the hell did I think it was going to be in Qatar...? Thanks machinebacon.

Probably because the bid was somewhere in 2010 or 2011. They always give enough time for a country to prepare and allow enough time if something goes wrong like e.g. the 1986 World Cup that originally was planned to be hosted by Colombia, they got the bid in 1974 but they resigned in 1982 due to economic reasons. Mexico had held a World Cup in 1970 and had a working infrastructure and some experience. The FIFA regulations say that each continent has to hold a WC in rotation. The turn is 'non-European' (because Russia 2018 counts as European host).

^ Seconded.
It's funny how we used to be able to do real stuff with rudimentary computers, but now we can't. -- ratcheer

indeed, the technique is quite awesome, and no schwalbes either! :D

As bad as all that sounds, they have even worse taste in headphones. I saw some news reports taken when the players get off the team bus and whatnot. Some of the headphones they wear - well if Hollywood ever made a movie called Tacky & Tackier (and its sequel, Gaudy and Gaudier), those headphones would be star props.

^ football players are not really in touch with these things. their talent is football, after all, not thinking (often).

must disagree with kiiiiiro about the tattoos though: my gf is neither in jail nor a sailor, but still has tattoos, and i like them :)
but yeah, there seems to be a trend for flashy hair, big tattoos and Beats headphones among footballers nowadays.

i just like to take this opportunity to express my love for Mauel Neuer. i really like him. amazing goalie, and just looks like a really nice guy :)

Fair enough rhowaldt, I am sure tattoos look better on your girl than on Olivier Giroud's arm :)
Be sure to check - just in case - that she did not forget to tell you she had been in jail before! :P
