Re: Mechanical keyboard?
...and this got me thinking. I posted in this thread a while back about my favorite keyboard, a WASD Keyboards custom with Cherry Black switches. I received some Cherry o-ring switch dampeners (http://blog.hwa2u.com/wp-content/upload ... oring4.png) a while back and figured just now that that my keyboard hasn't been cleaned properly EVER (it's been about 3.5 years since I purchased it) so maybe now was a good time to try these out. The Cherry Black switches have no tactile click or bump to them, and bottom out... but as I type this, I feel an immense difference with no bottoming out. It's not as hard of a bottom as I'd expected... pretty rubbery even with these, the smallest diameter dampener. I'll keep them around for a while and see how I like them. Pictures of a clean, happy keyboard below... the numpad is supposed to look like the keypad on the bomb in Counter-Strike and the [F1]-[F12] keys are just numbers. Since I ordered this from WASD, they no longer do custom keycaps (many of which I made using wingdings or symbol fonts, such as the bomb, scissors, skull and crossbones, no smoking sign, astrological symbol, etc).

...and maybe the fact that I typed so much is a credit to how much I'm enjoying these o-rings. Anyway, back to work.
Edit: I noticed that Pidsley edited my previous posts between my beginning and ending typing this. I don't know how to make thumbnails on these forums but will refrain from posting pictures until I educate myself. Apologies.

Re: Mechanical keyboard?
got a new keyboard, not a mechanical, about as close as i'll get without forking out - or lucking upon one.
Cherry RS 6000, about the worlds most standard looking keyboard, it does have a nice recessed capslock key notch, which has reduced my fumbling around after suddenly shouting for a few sentences after using 'a'
certainly not clicky but has a nice action for a membrane. :)

^ That looks nice, wux. I personally love keyboards that are not clicky but have good action. Thanks for the share ! :)

Re: Mechanical keyboard?
^^ Cherry is our standard for PC based controls. Always served well and good bang for the buck IMO.
