Unread post by harveyhunt » Sun Jul 20, 2014 12:48 am

We all likes animals, so why not have a thread for it?

I got my dog a new bed and he is loving it.

^ very cool fellow :)

Our highly motivated dog. Especially friendly and playful to burglars. Barks at harmless seniors.

Great pic mr hunt.
I thought we had a similar thread. Maybe just memories of munch. Anyway, we have this. I have some pics of my dogs in there. I have 3 soft coated wheaton terriers, and 2 manx cats.

most of you've seen my dogs. they arent really my dogs anymore as i see them maybe once every few months (my ex-wife has them), but i still love them.
ernietoby.jpg
i used to have a cat as well, but seeing how i wanna rent out my flat and i doubt anybody will rent it including a cat, i had to take it somewhere else. luckily my ex-wife offered to take the cat, and that is where she lives now, happy to have more attention, unhappy because she is with those pesky dogs again :D

Nice thread.

I have a lot of cats, I literally had 20* at one point. Now I have two Orientals, a Burmese, a Tortoiseshell, and a Tabby.

* you really have to look out for incest; it's the cause of a lot of genetic defects in cat breeds. For example, one of my orientals has a fur defect, and needs a special diet. What worse is how many breeders intentionally disregard this fact. :/

I have hundreds of pictures, but decided to post two of a cat I lost a few years ago.

edit: perhaps move this thread to /etc/shadow? seems to fit better there - just a suggestion.

We have one cat, who is 16 years old and the most problem-free animal we have ever owned! She's getting a little stiff, but still growing strong. We also have two French bulldogs: the male, Duke, is five years old and about 30 lbs. The female, Pocket, is about 15 lbs. and two years old. She is a runt, and will not get any bigger. She is also mostly blind, and has some minor neurological issues. But she is a little sweetheart. :)

^ Thanks, frank. Yes, the French bulldog is a strange and funny beast. I joke that they are an alien/monkey/goat/gargoyle/bat/freak-of-nature/Stitch (from the Disney movie "Lilo and Stitch") all the time. But they are cute, and have loads of character.

The difference is only that /etc/shadow is excluded from what search engines can find, else it is just as public (or non-public) as /dev/null.

We only move 'sensible stuff' to /etc/shadow -- a pet thread doesn't really contain such data :) But if there's a (logical) reason, of course it can be moved.

Wow, nice pics and damn how many pets you all have. Unfortunately I have no pets anymore. Though my better half has three dogs at home in Spain. Maybe I can find some pics.

Edit: Found them, the crazy Burro, means donkey:

Here is his lover Lluna, means moon:

@mb: I for one would be deeply shocked if my cat were retrieved via Gogol Memages, photoshopped into a sandwich, and posted on facialbook.

;)

What I do is look at some of their traits, choose a family member that reminds of them, and give a name accordingly. I know, I'm weird.

I'm loaded with pets. I used to have an African Gray parrot, but it died suddenly at age 21.

Now, I have a Border Collie dog, a Border Collie bitch pup, an old, toothless Bichon Frise dog, and two exotic Sugar Gliders. It is a mad house.
