Well...
The killx domain has expired. so that ain't gonna work.
The site and tarball is not dead and gone, just resting.
It's Machinebacon's project so, it's his say-so to open it up to the world again.
But, you aren't the first, if it's a go it'll have to wait till Monday, maybe Tuesday anyway.

Oh killX is as dead as can be :) It's now part of the BBQ, as "LinuxBBQ Bowlful". Also makes for an easier installation.
Thanks for your message, and thanks wux. If you like you can put it on the new server, else I put it somewhere on sourceforge.

Re: what's happened to killx website???
I don't think I put the old site online again - it doesn't bring much to me, actually it brings nothing :) The tarball I still have somewhere, and documentation - well - it's actually the same steps as gentoo or slackware, so editing the /etc/hostname and fstab and things like this. Nothing special.
And yes, regard Bowlful as the continuation of killX. Same base, same package management, plus an installer. killX didn't have an installer.

i remember that in the docs there was some recommendation about the boot loader... if you have the old website, i can host it on altervista.org free hosting!!! it will be something as www.killx.altervista.org :-)

Thank you, we do have an own server. Allow a few days to set the page up. Thank you.

Re: what's happened to killx website???
an own server is not cheap... i use the host1free free VPS!!! it's not full of features, but it's good for a small/medium project!!! :)
Re: what's happened to killx website???
Someone else actually liked killx? Color me amazed.
Re: what's happened to killx website???
^ liked? judging by the amount of exclamation- and questionmarks, this guy is positively stoked about it ;)

Re: what's happened to killx website???
i like all the CLI free unix-like OSs!!! :-) maybe killX will be used in an ITCS (Istituto Tecnico Commerciale Statale) in my town. ITCS is something like Computer Science High School. we're (i and a teacher friend of mine) trying to impose gnu-linux in our school!!! :-)anarcotux wrote:an own server is not cheap... i use the host1free free VPS!!! it's not full of features, but it's good for a small/medium project!!! :)

It's funny how we used to be able to do real stuff with rudimentary computers, but now we can't. -- ratcheer

Yeah, you are welcome sire, lovely simple HTML BTW 8)
I kept the nano vibe going too 8)
I thought the forums were a bit overkill (and I spent too long trying to work out why they didn't work)
