I discovered Organic Maps and it seems to play nice as well.ivanovnegro wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 11:55 pmI just reset the phone and now use exclusively F-Droid and did not login into any Google account. The phone is already running better and I discovered OsmAnd. I knew about the app but never tried it or at least could not get it to work before. Oh boy how I love the maps for my bike rides, finally having the correct routes and not the bullshit that Google Maps offers.

Re: App Store
Oh yeah, we had this thread.
Since y'all on the F-Droid shift, may as well plug Infinity. In my eyes, it's the best looking Reddit client on any platform. Especially useful for folk like myself who just browse without an account.
On the other hand, this keyboard I'm using on Android, OpenBoard, kinda sucks with autocorrect. My "especially useful" in the previous paragraph somehow became "especially bisexual". WTF!!
Need to check out FlorisBoard when I find the time. See it recommended a lot.

^ I am a FlorisBoard user and I like it, although no autocompletion as of now.

Re: App Store
That looks cool and has a free iOS version.
@Slobby: I do not use Reddit as a registered user either and it is a pain to browse on a phone. Might try out that client. I mean Reddit is a shit show, but sometimes it is nice to have a look at the headphones subreddit and similar without the damn popup that asks me to install the official app.

I'm going to test it for a while. I generally refuse to subscribe to stuff using my phone number, but I cannot avoid it every single time (i.e. bills). Spam phone calls are not unusual here, and they always manage to sneak in some way or the other. Let's see if this app can help keeping them away.

I wanted a minimal launcher. KISS (recommended on DivestOS website) is good, but I like Olauncher better, although I disabled the useless daily wallpaper setting.

Re: App Store
I am slowly caving in and becoming more and more app dependent. User convenience, sigh. :|
Re: App Store
^ The trick is forgetting where you put the phone the last time. Happens to me pretty often.
Re: App Store
Yes I wish I could, but then I become helpless when I need to pay for parking, or need to show my boarding pass or...it is too late for me really. I am so corrupted and screwed all over by user convenience. :D
All hail to you who still resist! :)

^Thanks, missed that one, I have decided to try it out to see how it works, if so only for the fun of it. :)
