And he does it!
Re: Random Internet Thread
I have to admit, never seen it. It for sure is on my list now. The first Roubaix I saw was by accident when I first started really getting into cycling in 2001 I think. My now wife and I were on a weekend get away, and in the hotel, I just happened to flip to it. I was hooked from then on. It was when Boonen broke out and took 3rd, and when Hincapie fell in the ditch. That was by far the best one I've seen.

I think I grabbed mine from TPB, and burned it to disk:

Re: Random Internet Thread
@dkeg: never heard about that race, TBH, I haven't really followed events all that closely, aside from the obvious Tour de France, and so. Thanks for heads up.
@bones: giving that a watch this afternoon.

Re: Random Internet Thread
well then, good timing. Make time this Sunday to watch Paris Roubaix. You won't regret it.

Not sure of how useful this is, since I am not too picky about fonts. But I do see the importance of the right font, at the right place, at the right time to get the message through.

Re: Random Internet Thread
^ Actually, useful in my line of work. And there is also this, for identifying a font from a scan, and such:

Not that random, but I love me some stickers.
Re: Random Internet Thread
^ They deliver the stickers from Italy. Might want to check the delivery costs first. ;)
Re: Random Internet Thread
This whole Mozilla / Brendan Eich thing is amusing. Gay groups called for a boycott because the new CEO once donated to an anti-gay-marriage group, so he resigned, now conservative groups call for a boycott because he was "forced" to resign.

Re: Random Internet Thread
^ Yesh, this kind of stuff is ridiculous. Over at another forum, someone (Debian user) was wondering whether he should boycott using Iceweasel because of all this. Seriously? Get a life, people.

Just ridiculous. It is just that, personal political views, who cares. I thought we live in a "free" country. It is his right to spend the money wherever he sees fit. This so called "political correctness" bullshit is on the same level just as their opponents that hunt gypsies or gays and other minorities in other countries.
Re: Random Internet Thread
another interesting bit to add to that Brandon Eich debate: http://tech.slashdot.org/story/14/04/08 ... fornia-law
i cant be bothered with all this, to be honest. it can go both ways and everytime somebody will be offended. and the amount of offence taken all depends on what people generally regard as 'good' or 'bad' at a certain point in time. fifty years ago this would not have been an issue. and if he donated money to some kind of paedophilia-related group, the whole world would be outraged, yet in Ancient Greece that wouldn't have been a problem. it is simply impossible to not offend people, so why bother?

Bruce Sterling, one of my favorite sci-fi authors, at The Setup:

"Failing that, I can dream up some radical guerrilla alternative where I'm a complete cyberpunk autonomist dropout, Information Wants to Be Free style. A small, post-national island in the net, with my own, personal solar power, satellite broadband, and open-source, secondhand everything. No ads, bills, governments, cops, priests, or salesmen. I might be willing to put up with some rain barrels and some Thoreau-style green gardening, just to get out of the matte-black bunker a little."
Haha, a man after my own heart.
