Re: Random Internet Thread
I saw that (or another identical) bacon billboard once; in Las Vegas along I-515 between Henderson and "the Strip". Strategically located after a succession of about four Christian Science billboards :D Speaking of LV, I have to say that is one of the most depressing cities I have ever been to. There was an aura about it; maybe it was just the dimly lit casinos with no visible exits and rows and rows of slot machines sandwiched between dirty, overly-complex carpeting and stained, unappealing ceilings. The buffets were fun though ;)
@bones I love Schneider! Although he and I would politically disagree, he has some fantastic stuff to say and some great insights.

Re: Random Internet Thread
Ok guys, this is funny I think. This is Haskell in the eyes of a evil genius, so to speak. The examples include death by laser, murder etc in functional programming. A bit odd.
From now on I will join the Haskell bandwagon. I want to learn a strict functional language that is robust and yet flexible. Note: this is a new hobby.
I have taken a break from my old one, Python!
OO languages are getting on my nerves atm. (DJ and Gekko may back me up on this one) :)
Pidsley you might like his examples too ;)

PS. I did think of Scheme aswell. So if you think that would be a better functional start. Please let me know. Looked at OCaml, but it has less documentation than the two others.

^ I like this guy! Quite inspiring, actually.
I want to carve out some time to learn Scheme, but Haskell also looks fun.

@bones: he has a lot to say against position A, but not so much in favor of position B. it seems like he was ranting, then came to the part where he had to go into why the Unix way is superior, and decided 'fuck it, i'll just state that it is, i'm tired of typing now' :D

Re: Random Internet Thread
good news for only me perhaps- http://lifehacker.com/google-hangouts-f ... 1706292977
hangout app, is a lot more usable with a tiler (i3) now, before it just was horrible, until fiddled with and arranged.
Now it has one window. which lets one still pull out a convo window - floats a lot nicer too.

^ Not sure. I still find the design from the old days more appealing than anything after that.

Re: Random Internet Thread
I like the current last.fm. The beta looks pretty generic IMO. It would be nicer if everything wasn't so big.
