^ Exactly and he was (?) working for Canonical. Ignorant blog post like usual. They are all the same. I could provide more examples but I won't.

Just let me use my outdated distribution model that you all despise so much and kiss my middle finger.
I hope someday, there will come a future where I can finally toss all my laptops and live in the woods in peace without all this crap of technology.

Man, Linux was fun some ten years ago, now it is becoming like Android.

Every once in a while comes some new apologist explaining why I should snap or flat some dumb app, yeah instead of a program, like Spotify or Skype etc etc.

Now that was my rant to all those self-important assholes.

Edit: Shit like Silverblue and MicroOS are not even ready to be used by mortals. But they are hyped (ffs).

For me it's simple. My repo FF launches in 2 seconds. With your snap FF, I've turned into the Titanic Granny by the time it's ready. Oh, and your snapped FF also walks like the Titanic Granny, because I can't use my extensions to give it swagger. Fix your shit first. Till then, I'll stick to my pleb firejail for sandboxing.

What do I care anyway. FF is dying. Mozilla still takes our donations plus millions from Google, and then goes and lays off staff and release stupid mindfulness extensions and gives that new CEO a bonus.

I read something the other day where some Linux zealot was joking about the irony of needing a Google sanctioned Pixel device to install truly private platforms like GrapheneOS or CalyxOS. Well, on Linux we've degenerated to depending on people who post videos on a privacy invasive platform called Youtube, or fans of the gamer DRM posterboy called Steam for any sort of uptake, so the joke's on us.

^ Since you're into the privacy thing, here's a tip; take out referral bits from the links you share, as they can potentially be used for tracking.

I read about their rebranding. Seem to be marketing themselves as a GSuite alternative, just without the data gathering. My personal opinions of Proton AG and their CEO notwithstanding, just from a purely OpSec perspective I'm not sure I'd want a single point of failure for a bunch of services. All those eggs in a single basket....

Thanks for the tip, now I just have to remember it with my teflon brain :D I guess that the GSuite thing is for convenience, and is what people generally want. And from a privacy perspective, Proton must be a better alternative than the big G.

And regarding the eggs, I have been brooding about that lately.

I have no experience with Proton so I cannot speak of their quality, but I prefer not to rely on just one provider for all those services. They are just to delicate.

@vic: you can use the following for your links:

- when you browse the web: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... clearurls/
- when you want to share links: https://maglit.me/ (thank gslob for this, not me)

Wanted to send an informal file to someone just now and realized that silkky.cloud is dead.
Looked around for a new file sharing service and found this; https://wormhole.app/

New find. Didn't know this even existed until 5 minutes ago.
For those times email aliases or disposable email services get rejected or flagged. This creates a temp @gmail, making it impossible for a site to reject the address.
