Finished 3 % and it was pretty lame. It was promising but unfortunately there was nothing special.

Only one episode left of Stranger Things. I am bit surprised about the good reviews. It is like a family show.

Started Westworld, lasted about 27 minutes. Enough.

About to start Treme, finally.

^ I'm just 3 episodes in and it's already the same as with The Wire: love. David Simon (and everyone working with him) just writes what I need.

Once again, thanks for the tip.

Almost done with season 2 of Treme. So far so good. Music is just top-notch.

I loved The Wire, so I really wanted to love Treme, but something about it just never clicked with me. Maybe too many of the characters are annoying or depressing or both. I can't stand Steve Zahn or Khandi Alexander. I just want to tell them to shut the fuck up.

^ I know what you mean. The Wire is way superior in pretty much every possible way. I enjoy Treme more for the music and the cultural background than for the characters.

^ Understood. I am really into characters. If a show (or a book) has too many characters I don't like I just stop.

I also have a hard time with (some, maybe most) actors showing up in every TV show or movie. After a while I can't get past all the other shows or movies those actors have done -- and some actors have such a limited range they are basically the same character in everything they do. It's too distracting.

Independent films have unknown actors, but they often try to be too "quirky" and show how much they reject the mainstream.

I'm just extra grumpy today -- can't find anything I want to watch on streaming Netflix.

^ Maybe try The OA on Netflix. We watched it and liked the story. I know it is not for everyone. It is centered on one character. But then the main actor could annoy you because she appeared already in some other movies, probably shows. :)

^ Thanks. I binge-watched The OA right after it appeared on Netflix here. I thought it was pretty good.

Cool. As for something else we enjoy right now on Netflix, it is Fargo. Great show. It is loosely based on the movie by the Coen brothers. It has the essence of the movie and still is different enough.

I liked AO for the first 4 episodes then it started to fall apart for me. I assume they had so many episodes in the can (5), then they got picked up for a second season. The first 4 where a hour long and then 5 & 6 went to half hour with just some weird editing and a forced cliff hanger. Curious to see where they can take that story.

Both seasons of Fargo really enjoyed, looking forward to the next season.

Watched 'Legion' a Marvel Comic the first episode was written and directed my Noah Hawley aka 'Fargo.'
Edit: looks like he is the creator http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1279638/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

Production values where excellent, great story, action packed looked full of promise, cant wait to see where they take it.

^ I thought Van Helsing was pretty good actually better writing that The Walking Dead but that aint saying much ;)

Somebody watched Netflix's Dirk Gently? Crazy stuff. At least in Germany it goes under the umbrella of Netflix.
