@dr, I've been meaning to ask, have you taken up learning Hungarian? what motivated you to do that? :P

^ I have been working on a few things here or there... csak egy kicsit beszélek magyarul. I bought a Lonely Planet Hungarian phrasebook a while back when I was at a bookstore trying to find something to read on a roadtrip. Was entertaining enough, trying to learn how to pronounce phrases in what sounded like a drunken German (?) I decided to take Ancient Greek in High School, as I found that admissions departments at many universities tend to have a positive response to that on the transcripts, so much of my language learning time is spent trying to work with that. I also have tried to learn some Aramaic, Ugaritic (aka cuneiform) and Dutch (although my serious study of that that is really just a een broodje aap verhal).

tl;dr i'm working on magyar from time to time, will devote more serious study in future. waiting for day when I see a hungarian couple at a restaurant and I could act like I recognize her, act all irritated, and angrily ask her "Valaki mással jársz!?" The reaction will either be on /r/tifu or (if positive) on some /r/askreddit thread.
