Been a linux user since Crunchbang was Ubuntu based. Last several years I just do minimal Debian netinstalls nox environments.
For X I prefer a tiler. i3 is my favorite. I think it is cool to explore the wealth of programming available and add to the possibilities. I am glad to have found the BBQ and it's "philosophical" programmers.
