Salix appears to have upgraded packages and is ready for 14.2 Slackware. George also added a new user rank to their Forum. https://forum.salixos.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6522

ubuntuBSD - "The ease and familiarity of Ubuntu with the rock-solid stability and performance of the FreeBSD kernel."

From their Twitter: "First BETA release of #ubuntuBSD, codenamed "Escape from #SystemD" is out! Based on #FreeBSD 10.1 + #Ubuntu Wily"
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ubuntubsd/

Looks interesting, although the iso itself is ~850mb. Comes with XFCE and includes ZFS support :D

^ Hmmm, I don't get it on so many levels. What license? Can they use the Ubuntu name and logo? Looks like the Ubuntu installer, and then what, you land in FreeBSD? Another Anti SytstemD crusader? What's the intention or goal? I can go on and on....
Sorry for the rant. Whats next, Appluntu?

^^ You know, I'm not particularly clear on what their motives are. Their sourceforge page isn't overly detailed. It sort of reminded me of Debian/kFreeBSD with the ZFS support and other goodies.

^ Lol, I know why you and I are not clear on this thing, there is no bloody documentation :D
That 'man spectrwm' guy would have a valid reason to bitch about no info in this case haha.

@Black Ivan Exactly! When I was a DJ in a stripper bar in Vancouver, I used to have a weekly award for the dancer who had the worst attitude or was the biggest pain in the ass (late for shows or missed shows, brings wrong tape or CD for theme show and has a meltdown, fights with other girls in the dressing room, screaming and swearing at customers, etc.). The girl won the PMS Vicious Cunting Sow of the Week award. It would make a great user rank for rotten meat but it's kinda long. :D

looks like it is something ALFS-ish. at least it uses LFS mirrors to build.

Pür Linux looks good. Nice to see people pushing back against the usual bullshit, doing things differently.

Pur looks pretty interesting. I'll probably check it out again in a few months to see how things are progressing. I hope it gains traction. I'm tempted to put Void on my new Raspberry Pi 3.
