^ Tried before, didn't "click" for me. Maybe it's time to give it another ride.

Re: Distros of interest
mx15 beta1 is out there.
I have used mx14 on one machine since... a long time ago, and I guess 15 will be worth looking at too.

Hmm, I have a hunch, sources will be the future of all systems, just "wrapped" differently.
My 2 pence. Lets see what happens.

Se were talking about buildroot on IRC, and franksn found this: https://github.com/gamaral/rpi-buildroot
I have not yet tried it, but I will as soon as I get a monitor and keyboard for my rpi.

wow, even cheaper? I've got a model A was a little slow, great as a low-powered fileserver.

Re: Distros of interest
^ yeah it's a nice one. When you are bored of it, have a go with http://www.slitaz.org/ or the mother of Porteus, https://www.slax.org/ and then top it off with http://tinycorelinux.net/ (which I love)

Re: Distros of interest
Yep got Tinycore downloaded having a fiddle around with that too - it's awesome.

Slitaz is lovely! The IT dept at our local community college uses it as a live USB to recover files from borked student computers :)

Re: Linux News
Or, if you really want something that's still openbox-like but made pretty for you, preconfigured with slick icons and such, there's Semplice all ready to go. It's just shiny, blue, and Italian rather than flat, grey, and British. I use it sometimes, and to my noobish mind it feels like the true successor to #!.
just say "thanks, man"

Re: Linux News
Semplice has always been a great project with its own design philosophy, so yes, +1 from me, too.
