You know how sometimes if you mistype a filename in Bash, it corrects your spelling and runs the command anyway? Such as when changing directory, or opening a file.

I have invented Suicide Linux. Any time - any time - you type any remotely incorrect command, the interpreter creatively resolves it into rm -rf / and wipes your hard drive.

It's a game. Like walking a tightrope. You have to see how long you can continue to use the operating system before losing all your data.

It's an odd mix of LFS, some binary packages, and CRUX pkgmk/pkgadd tools. And it's French.

Well, I have not used it for long, so I can't really say too much about it. It was easy to install, and easy to get xorg working. It installs a very small minimal system. It's a good way to learn more about Linux, because everything is just slightly different from other distros. The binary repos are a little thin, but that's not surprising. I like the CRUX package tools.

Overall I think if I am going to build several things with package tools, I'd just as soon build the whole system and use CRUX. But then I have used CRUX for a while and everything is more familiar in that system.

^ So it is in a way too close to CRUX so there is no real reason to leave it I guess. I agree with you that it is a good place to learn about Linux.

One thing for sure, is that Thierry Nuttens (tnut) likes his flying Unicorns :)

^ basically it's like crux on steroids, not so surprising as it was originally a crux based distro. The maintainers moved to LFS/BLFS while keeping the package manager (which is like sort of a set of wrappers around crux package managers) and some part of the filesystem layout to at least be familiar to Crux users. The best thing is, unlike crux they retained the 32 bit version of the distro too.

Unfortunately, the distro maintainers do not speak english very well.....

i saw Void Linux mentioned earlier. it's my favorite "unknown" distro. built from the ground up, light, near bleeding edge, no systemd, BSD-like source ports. the package manager is incredible...my only issue is the mediocre documentation.
