I'm just happy to be able to call myself a 30-something for one more year. After that it's all down hill.

18!, hell, I can't even remember being 18. Think I was drunk, or stoned or both.

Haha, to be honest the 30s seem like when you actually start getting somewhere after trail/error in the 20s. My parents are in their 40s, and from what it looks like you begin exchanging physical strength and stamina for wisdom and knowledge gained over the past 20ish years. Everybody is at a different time in their lives, but I think us young people always appreciate it when we are able to learn something from those who went before us so we don't have to make the same mistakes :)

DC, what you say is pretty accurate. So far being in my 40's has been a different experience. Of course, kids have come along and helped with that. But there is also something else.

Anyway, HB.

when i was 29 i feared turning 30. but then i remembered my favourite number is 3 so i realized it would be the best time ever. especially this summer when i will turn 33, man, it's going to be good.

whether 3 is your fav number or not, the point is of course that the idea that things will "get worse" once you get older will turn out to be mostly bullshit. Sure, perhaps when you hit the 60 and your body starts to really work against you after years of smoking and lifting shit wrong, you might be sad a bit. but for me (and this is a cliche that many people will tell you cause apparently this is how it tends to work) from my 30s onward i finally had some kind of idea of what the fuck i wanted to do with my life.

i think the way you describe it is quite accurate indeed. and as vic said, proper insight into the workings of life at your age. doing well man. yeah, for sure: have fun. and don't stop till you're dead either.

Well! I'm wishing you a belated Happy Birthday as well! Many more as well! Aging sucks physically, but mentally it won't suck until much, much later. So live it up, Dr_Chroot!

Holy smokes! Thanks, guys! It's been a long time...

I can't believe I only have one last year of being a teen left. I'm going to try to make the most of it... and try to not create too much trouble! ;)
