^ Ahum, in Wuxland it's still Summer in October :D

So, here's the Old Speckled Hen in action... accompanying fried green beans with chili
I have to say the bitterness is much more pronounced after eating something spicy, I actually took the first big sip before eating and it was more malty and literally creamy, buttery, sweet, toffee-like. Very low carbonation, but even like this it still keeps a beautiful dense foam. Of course this brew is a gazillion times better than any Chinese beer - the Brits know their stuff.

^ nice beer, you might be fired from pub if you pulled a pint like that :p
(appreciate a can of 500ml is not quite a pint)
I had a couple of cans of this on the train:

very nice they were too.
off to France soon, so have to avoid all the shitty lagers out there.

Oh you jest about summer in October, but has been very sunny here, for a change. Started with the rain now, so yes more deeper, warmer brews now :)
how you feel about spiced/warmed beers?
My old dad used to heat the poker up in the fire and quench it in his beer in winter, not sure why.

This is the small family brewery we have here where I went to the Bock beer festival. The above one is just wow. Tried it yesterday in one of their bars they have across the town. It is a dark lager, very tasty and aromatic. Looks great in a proper glass. And btw I was drinking with one of the heads of the brewery, two women! Not even 30. :) They are sisters and inherited the brewery from their father and doing their job exceptionally well.

Just go through the colors. The beers are fantastic. I already tried a bunch and still have more to come.
