GekkoP wrote:Now that I'm reading a book on Stanley Kubrick, I'm also watching all of his films again. If I'd have to list my top 3 Kubrick's:

01 Eyes Wide Shut
02 2001: A Space Odyssey
03 Barry Lyndon

Close at #3 would be Dr. Strangelove.

Mine would be:

2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange

And then:

Paths of Glory, Full Metal Jacket

Somehow I still missed to watch Spartacus. But that is probably because I am not into that kind of stuff but I will try it.

^ Please do!

Fun facts:
- I remember sitting in a movie theatre with only two other guys watching Paths Of Glory remastered. It was a Tuesday afternoon, I was just 19 years old. Good times.
- I remember watching A Clockwork Orange when I was 14 years old. An old VHS, stolen from a friend. Again, it was an afternoon, parents out for work, sister doing homework at her friend's house. It shocked the hell out of me. Nowadays, though, I don't love it as much as back then. It's just not the Kubrick I like.
- I remember watching 2001 and not understanding a single thing. I bought it the VHS and watched it 3 times in a weekend just to get something out it. Upon the 4th watch, it was just love.
- I remember watching Eyes Wide Shut back in 2000 and loving it since the very first camera movement. Couldn't understand why the critics panned it so badly (but, as I discovered later, it often happened with Kubrick's works). Nowadays, every so-called film critic loves Eyes Wide Shut.

The best sequence is the whole procession. Great movie. I loved it from the beginning and watched it two times or more.

Sure. I think I know what you mean. :)

Though I stopped somewhere in the middle of Barry Lyndon. I just did not get it.
