I nearly puked. Well... IceCat was the BBQ default GTK2 web browser kit back in the golden (as in pee-colored) days. Those days it was comparably low in install size for a browser/mail client combo. Of course it had to suffer a lot of bitchin'...

you can download Midori directly from their website. i use it and Palemoon on most of my light installs. for example, on VoidLinux JWM, i'm running around 100MB RAM, after a few hours up and a couple of source installs. RAM usage with Midori (4 or 5 tabs open) runs around 180 - 200 MB.

How long can you run Midori between crashes? If it finally works, great.

it depends on the distro. Midori was working great on Void, now i'm having some issues with toolbars compressing. i usually get better results on manjaro openrc. yes, that is it's downfall. it's one of my favorite light, fast browsers, but it usually crashes, or bugs out, eventually. i find Midori works best if you don't use it to watch videos. for that, i usually use Vivaldi. it's my favorite new "heavy" browser, but it lacks plugins, as far as i can tell.

As said, by the time of writing this Midori was not in the Jessie repos and I only used the browsers that were in the Debian Jessie repositories. There is a good reason I don't install stuff that creates a dependency hell (see Midori and their notes on Debian). That it "was working great on *** and used around *** RAM there" is surely pleasant - I also regularly tell my wife that my ex was a blowjob queen.
