Hail to the grill!

Unread post by GA-KO » Sun Mar 20, 2016 6:39 pm

Been in the shadows, lurking the grill for a while now.
I mean like the creepy kinda long while ... :/

Anyways, really awesome community ! I've been a big fan of bbq and many of bbq's stuffs.
Seriously this is like the ultra easter egg distro(s)/forum. Very cool environment you'll have created here.

Alright me time,
I like Linux and stuff and Debian kicks ass. Lately I have been messing around with GNU m4 macros and vtwm.
Yeah, bleeding edge right... I've made a hella lot of icon sets, themes, system sounds and macro environment
for the configuration files to be more modular. I like it because everything fits nicely in one config directory
without needing gtk themes.

I have an unhealthy love for old X tools too. I've actually spent a night reading descriptions for every Debian package
that starts with x* :/

Code: Select all

#!/bin/bash
xpkg () {
  array=( $(apt-cache showpkg ^x | grep "Package:" | awk '{print $2}') )
    select opt in "${array[@]}"; do
    apt-cache show $opt | grep -A 10 Description-en
  done
}
xpkg
exit 0
Aside from all that weird shit, I like electronic music, and spend some free time
dicking around with Renoise, usually attempting to make crappy jungle and other break
chopping garbble that's not very good. Play guitar, and keyboard semi-decent.

thx and Woot BBQz!

welcome gako. Your scrots on the bunsen forum really stand out, in a good way. You are out of your element there. Hopefully you can find yourself a place to hang out here.

What part of the world are you from? SF, USA?

thx dkeg! means a lot coming from you. I have been an often regular to your amazing scrots, github. The simple yet awesome dkegger script
has motivated me a lot in my vtwm configs.

Hey, welcome to the grill, my friend. I'm digging the scrot! Sounds like you're a busy man, but you appear to be quite the nixer none the less :D

Florida, eh? It gets a bad rap for some reason, but it's my home-away-from-home for 5-6 months out of the year. It has its rough areas, sure, but there are some real gems. I was just doing some work in Charlotte County, fortunate enough to have found a great pizza place in a strip mall run by a Sicilian. Top class stuff, competes with the best I have gotten (in Bonita Springs, actually!)... I may have enjoyed some last night :D

I look forward to seeing you around the grill :)

Howdy! I love Florida so much it makes my wife jealous, lols!
No. Seriously.
She tells me one day she might actually let us move there, but I think she's just holdin' the ol' carrot out :/
