By the way, I have removed all google services and shit from my Galaxy Tab 3 and installed the F-Droid store only. They have NewPipe as Youtube app replacement, also their wikipedia reader, everything they do is totally open-source and really lightweight. Sure, it still runs on Android, but hey, ... :D

Thank You!
(I remember when debian "non-gui" installer scared me. #never-forget)

^ Yes, right. All goo-services (and Samsung services) are not running and replaced by free software (yes, free as in free of shit) :D

^ No need to root it (except if you have a really old device with Honeycomb or what). Imagine you make a factory reset. After boot, it asks you things like password for your wifi etc. Then it says you should log in to your google account, here you pick "No, Thanks" or so. Then later in the application manager, you go through all those apps that are suspicious and hit "clear cache", "stop service" and then this button turns to show "remove" or something like that. I should check that later again, I don't remember the exact wording. Anyways, they will be removed but not deleted. You are right though that on my old phone I couldn't remove the shit, only revert to previous version, or "uninstall updates".
