^ I'm not speaking for anyone here, but why compilers for "retro feel"? if anything, should it not fall to the developer to install their own requirement rather than having it shipped to everyone?

Anyway, welcome aboard dude!

Welcome rvijay. I am also a user of ancient hardware, including a few machines I collected for free.

Exactly. Anything extra like compilers is easy to install once the system is running. I don't see the value of including build tools in a routine install. See bbq philosophy point one:

1. eat what's served and season to your liking

That said, it also seems unlikely there will be any new spins in the near future. I know I'm not planning on any (but who knows what bacon is cooking these days). Seems we are all more into doing our own things right now (in the bbq way of course).

Hi and welcome rvijay, I hope you will have a good stay here at the bbq. Never mind the bollocks as long as there is a netinstall to season after your personal preferences. Eeh, or something like that. :D
Sorry guys, no signature for a while, too busy with life. :|

Tired palemoon browser on Puppy Linux latest distro, it also says linuxbbq portal, cookbook and Blog are not safe to open and the cert. for linuxbbq.org is not valid.
No other option other than to exit out.

However, the main linuxbbq site opens well.

I am pleased to inform that I installed LinuxBBQ to Hard Drive.
Last time I tried to install it to external USB drive, that didn't boot, then copied that install to HD and had to configure the OLD grub, that didn't help either. So this time decided to install to HD directly and it worked. Tried to install x11-xsession-utils and it said not found, all other packages needed for x were installed as mentioned in X11. Will have to try and configure X from here and see if it works.

If you have issues and they are not covered yet on the forum then open a new thread in support.

Best Audio Player mocp - allows to pause when playing and resume by pressing

These days for many with net communication is a breeze.

Initially, humanity spent a lot, struggled and even sacrificed much for communication. Here is a free audiobook that details one such:
https://librivox.org/the-story-of-the-a ... es-bright/
History and retro stuffs sometimes is interesting and gives a nice break from
busy modern life.

Unless you speak Chinese, live in China, or have occasion to use WeeChat on your mobile device, it might not really be worth learning just for the sake of it. Unless you want a permanent record of something being stored by the Chinese government (and by extension the US government via the Patriot Act) or you live in a large city and want to dabble in mainstream illegal prostitution (either for consumption or professional networking if you are a prostitute yourself), then it might suit your purposes perfectly. Ironically, it would also be a great tool for selling drugs to cops, if there were not so many people named Pak on WeeChat.

Regarding browsers, I made this list of browsers to try, as I have been on numerous odyssies to find something I like... but I got stuck on qupzilla and have not moved off of it and progressed down the list since I love it enough:
hv3
surf
qutebrowser
qupzilla
dillo
epiphany-browser
netsurf
netrik

That being said, there is a tool for duckduckgoing from the terminal called ddgr that is rad (which I think is what the `r` stands for)

Furthermore, I do not condone illegal activities, being a vigilante, being a police officer, immoral acts, etc...

!!! xD !!! HAHAHAHA, thanks franksinistra, of course this makes sense! What a laugh, thanks for clearing this up for me. I had always assumed it was there because our glorious leader uses WeChat... turns out it is there because he realizes that people sometimes uses IRC...

I read all the wiki links, don't think will remember them all, might have
to revise them again in future. Then went thru entire forum: Scripts, support, how to areas, saved and bookmarked several vital threads. Lots of learning to do here, will be very slow and busy for a while.

Thanks all.
