4eyes here... hi everyone.
Seems like linuxBBQ is exactly what I have been looking for... a fast and customisable rolling release distro that I can easily shape to my own ends. Many thanks to everyone involved in getting it out.
Just one problem - what the hell am I going to do with my spare time now that I have no reason to go distro-hopping?

Welcome to the fire house!
How about WM-hopping? There are about 40 WMs in the Debian repos. ;)4eyes wrote:

thanks for the welcome everyone
My WM hopping days are over too - has to be XFCE for me.
I guess I can get my fix by putting on my chef's hat and doing a little roasting though :)

Hello 4eyes (jokingly called Brillenschlange in German),
XFCE is surely a fine DE, so it sounds like it's roasting for you. Put it on a stick for your fiance with a customized wallpaper, girls love that :D

I distrohop in a VM. The whole reason I like a rolling distro is that I don't have to re-install ;)

Thanks again everyone... I have now 'roasted' my own, (based on 'Rocks!' .. as mentioned here.
Installed on my laptop hybrid drive, it boots in around 6-8 seconds - beats the Manjaro install I had previously by a good 7 seconds (and I thought that was pretty impressive).
Loving this thing :)
