I... I feel like I have struck gold. My literature professor just texted me a link to this channel; never has the subject been easier to understand. Let's say you can't follow the plotline of Oedipus, perhaps primarily because that dude behind you is snickering about it the whole time during lit class? Ba-bing! Oedipus explained: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMD18ZF0MLo

ancient greeks were crazy, they've got some proper gods though.

hang on - Your prof texted you a youtube link. wow we (old folks) just had some books, maybe an open university lecture on VHS... Pidsley was reminiscing over his slab of slate and chalk he had at school :P

^ hahahaha

i think the beauty of youtube (etc) is that sometimes people have come up with new ways to explain shit more effectively than in textbooks etc. there is more learning-innovation on the internet than in printed works for obvious reasons :)

^^ You know, I have always wanted to sit in on a lecture with a chalkboard. That sounds fun in a way :) /r/blackboardporn

^ Pretty much every learning style is represented on the internet is contrast to the classroom, which many times seems to focus on a select few personality styles (typically those of the professor!).

you have never enjoyed the task of 'cleaning the erasers'.

At the end of the day, a student would have the task of taking the erasers outside to clap them to get all the chalk out.

Don't know who is the bigger idiot - the Mr. Know-All in the video, or the fuckers in the comments section. Don't watch if you already have bad mood today...

His opinion (to Linux take over the desktop OS market...)
- make WINE support more MS software, so Adobe (!?) should invest $$$ into this (wtf?)
- there should only be one desktop OS/toolkit so all developers would know what they are writing software for (!?)
- billions of users (!!1) should be able to run Linux on their hardware, so it needs better hardware support (???)
- developers should be able to earn money from those users that come from Windows, because those users are used to pay money for software (!!!)
- ...

Okay, enough. This guy is the opposite of the BBQ philosophy. Go eat shit.

not watching the video because your summary seems sufficient. that sounds especially idiotic. but then, generally speaking, i think anybody still trying to bring forth the "Linux should take over the desktop market" rhetoric is idiotic anyway. i dont think these people stop and think and ask themselves "why should Linux take over? why should *anything* 'take over', for that matter? what situation am i actually promoting, and is it that much better to the current one?"

That's exactly the point, Rosy! This guy is owned by MS and Apple and thinks that Linux (whatever this exactly means!) aims to be the number something on some kind of non-existent market. Well, at least the mobile market is 'ours'.

Someone are dreaming of capturing "The Linux market" ( :D ) with hope of squeezing out yet another revenue, they obviously need a lesson in the BBQ philosophy. A nice idea for Christmas gift :)
