Freud: The Secret Passion
I love John Huston and I love Montgomery Clift. This is a lost gem, if you ask me, although I prefer by a large margin what they did the year before.

"Empire/Viften" a satirical look at Denmark as a slave state in the 1840s. It was ok.

"Praying for Armageddon" is a political thriller that investigates the dangerous consequences of the fusion between Evangelical Christianity and American politics."

Finally I watched Carpenter's The Thing, fantastic. I still love those old Sci-Fi horror flicks.

Cocaine Bear.
Yeah, not something you connoisseurs would recommend, but as far as I’m concerned this (or at least three-quarters of it) is peak B-movie.

I cannot recall a time that I didn't watch anything that didn't just pass me by.
Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography
Not writing much here, I know, but I have been watching film as usual. The problem is I have yet to see a film as good as All of Us Strangers this year. Even George Miller failed me on this regard.
Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography
We do not watch many films nowadays, it is hard to find those that really is worth the while. Anyway, we watched "Inside Out" yesterday, and it was worth the while in my opinion. Very cute, great concept, and a good film for the whole family. :)

To spare you some hours I sat through the director's cut of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon. Six and a half hours of a space opera the point of which I am still trying to figure out.
Note that I am among the few who do not despise Snyder's cinema. Well, wait a second. Let's say I do not despise all of it. The truth is I only like three/four films in his entire oeuvre. So yes, I am not among the pugnacious fans nor among the majority who just hates him and would like to see him retire once and for all.
Nonethelees, this is just way, way too much even for me. He tried not to rip off Star Wars and to a certain extent he got it right, so kudos for that. Plus the DCs have their fair amount of sex and violence that pleases me. But come on, remove the (more often than not) great visuals and what is left here? I don't understand fans who claim Kurosawa and Ford as possible comparison. Are you kidding me?
If anything, Snyder has its own recognizable style and he is willing to risk everything to push it forward. That I admire.

Wait, did some critic say Kurosawa? No way!!!
Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography
"Living", an adaption of the Kurosawa film "Ikiru" with Bill Nighy playing the lead character. It was quite good and had some interesting points I think. It is about a bureaucrat that gets a cancer diagnosis and decides to live a little towards the end of his life.

"Scoop", do not bother.
Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography
Finally got to watch a movie worth the time. "Drive My Car" by Ryusuke Hamaguchi.
Very nice. Took some time to get into it for me, because it is a delightfully slow film and I was not mentally prepared for that. But time I got, it is nearly three hours long.

Tried a new thing this week. Not a film, but a play. We bought tickets for streaming of a live performance of "Hedda Gabler" by Henrik Ibsen. And in fact it was a great experience in my opinion. The actors were on fire and they really blew me away. Wish I could watch it again.
