Nothing much here in this regard. I recently bought Bertolucci's "The Conformist" Blu-ray (the Rarovideo one, restored and packed with great goodies) and watched this new version last night. Such a fantastic film, you can clearly see where Michael Mann's aesthetic sensibilities come from.

What if the latest Tarantino surprised me so positively I feel like it's one of his very best works?

(Note that this comes from the same guy who loves Death Proof more than any other Tarantino's, so your mileage may vary.)

Some days ago I watched Moonlight on Netflix because everybody was praising it three years ago. Nothing special at all. Amazing photography and a very important subject but otherwise totally overrated in my opinion and the end was just not convincing. 6/10 is my final rating.

Still processing the new Scorsese. It's a behemoth and he put so much in it, but I have yet to understand whether he is really saying something interesting and possibly new.

First of all thank you for the nice review of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I am looking forward to it and now of course I have to watch the new one from Scorsese. Though I need time. My work schedule is exploding and the film list is going up, too.

^ It's 3 hours and a half of Scorsese glory, with CGI on top of great old actors which may be unsettling (it was to me at first). Take your time, and if you can, enjoy it on a big screen.

I am still recovering from the absolute absurdity of That's My Boy. I am by no means an Adam Sandler fan, but this came highly recommended and well, dear me. Offensive and obnoxious in every possible way, I hardly laughed, but somehow in the middle of the madness I did find something to like. Little, though, but still something.

We wne to France over Xmas break and we are lucky enough to have a nice big wall and projector (thanks to step-bro who left a broken bulb and DLP projector in the bin) and 2nd hand surround system (KODI box and local HDD) in France. Only problem is we can pretty much only watch kids films as, well It's quite loud and one bedroom is right next to the screen,
so the remake of Aladdin wasn't that bad. and we watched, one a night, the 'de-specialised' versions of Star Wars original trilogy (which I hadn't heard about) Needless to say boy twin is a massive fan :D

We are also thinking about getting a projector because we have a big white wall in the living room above the TV and behind the sofa we can put the projector above the high book shelve. The room is quite big. That is why the sofa is in the middle.

Our sofa is a rubbish placement for the surround speakers. I put a pillow over it as it's like on top of the sofa backplate :D
Although we can have it as loud as it goes (stone house, double glazing, nearest neighbours 50M away, in a stone house )
people in the UK seemed to be selling 2nd hand speaker setups for not very much. Even the oldest cheapest ones can use a digital in. you can get a HDMI -> digital splitter for 20E the onyko I got (with 8 speakers/sub) was 80 quid and had HDMI input so I was spoiled. Have also plugged the turntables in for a super surround sound (have to turn the DSP off otherwise it's not synced)
anyway yeah get a projector. Although having seen some of those new TVs in supermarkets they are really captivating with the slick looking motion

Thing is I do not like big TV screens in the living room. They leave a big black hole in the wall when you do not use them, which is most of the time here. I mean it is a weekend thing for us watching movies and shows.
