"I´m Thinking Of Ending Things", Charlie Kaufman. I found it very intriguing. Sometimes a bit creepy, but fascinating. Fell off a bit towards the end of it though, it took a turn that bordered silly, understandable, but silly. Probably because of my own feelings.

All in all, a mind is a terrible thing to taste movie. It is one of those films that I will remember. Enjoy!

I've never thought a short film could be the best film of the year: https://www.filmsinwords.eu/cinephilia/ ... ssing.html

The End of the Tour

An interesting approach to the biopic genre, but Wallace was way too much of a complex personality to be framed like this. Not that we lack biographical material from which make a good film, but his work is where he can be found now. The rest can be deep, informative, and even beautiful, but it will never be him.

Philosophy and EuroLeague have been taking me away from cinema, but I found The Turning moderately interesting. Not much in the horror genre this year for me, so far at least.

Watched a film called "Puzzle" on Netflix this weekend. With Kelly Macdonald (she is awesome here) and Irrfan Khan as the most known. I liked it a lot, it is about a womans self discovery and liberating process. No lasers, no violence, no stupid roofchases.

I watched Scott's Kingdom of Heaven and I am not really impressed by the story, maybe only by the cinematography. Yes, I did the director's cut. I am a history buff so sometimes I give this stuff a chance but then because of the same reason I feel a lot is missing. In the end the whole plot behind some interesting ideas does not make sense.

A couple of weekends back we did two reruns that I want to mention here. "Interstellar" and "Wall-E", both no favorite movies for me, but worth watching because of the political content (!) as well as the fact that they are both beautiful to view. The visuals are what really impress me and has made them stuck in my brain, and is whatw gave me the incentive to watch them again.

I was still binging some Scott movies and I am disappointed by both Prometheus and Covenant though Prometheus was better. The last one is really shit and the former was visually very appealing and I enjoyed more the mystery that was not visible on screen than what was shown.
Nobody will beat the original Alien movie.

Meanwhile, I have been trying the Wes Craven's I had left to watch. I don't think he will ever reach the likes of Tobe Hooper, John Carpenter or George Romero for me.

Watched two films on Netflix this weekend. "The Trial of the Chicgo 7" and "The Kitchen". Ok time wasters. They both have this modern computer low budget feel to them, and I am not a particularly big fan of it. :|

A great Italian one I missed a while ago. Well, great may be a strong word, but it's still one of the finest I've seen from my country in a while.

Athens, Return to the Acropolis

Starting my journey with Theo Angelopoulos from here, an obvious choice due to my studies I guess.

Se c’è un aldilà sono fottuto. Vita e cinema di Claudio Caligari

I don't know if this will ever be available outside the Italian borders, but since Italy let one of his greatest talents die without paying him due respect when he was alive, I hope this nice documentary will live forever. Claudio Caligari filmed the ugly side of this country (he was a Mean Streets lover, so you can guess the general feeling), and any time I rewatch one of his films I can't help but think he can never be replaced.

Abel Ferrara's own version of Abel Ferrara's own life. If you love the man like I do, it's great. Otherwise, there's something great anyway in it.

David Byrne's American Utopia
It's not Stop Making Sense (but what is?, one could rightly ask), but much respect to Byrne for still being there and believing in his own vision.
